When Will It Be OVER!!!

So my question is: When will it end?

People already hate us for being blind, narrow-minded idiots, and this whole mess is only proving that point. Why are we constantly arguing amongst ourselves? Why is it that the majority of us get so wound up over the most idiotic things?

I hate being a part of a community that's so negative about itself. We are so obsessed with ourselves and our ideals that we can't see when we've wronged someone else, or when what we're complaining about isn't worth the time. When is enough, enough?

Does it really matter that a fan/original character looks like a canon? Have you seen how many rip-off characters there are? Hell, a tom of the fan characters made are done in doll maker programs then screenshot to be posted. Case 'n' point: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN16PT… So, I think we're passed the point where that should be a problem.  The only reason why people like Akai get heat for it is because she's popular. It's pure jealousy. 

On that note, why get so pissed if your accused of this? Who cares if you're character has Rouge's body, or has Shadow's stripes? Originality isn't a real thing. At least not in the way most people would see it. What originality is is an accumulation of knowledge rearranged in a way never thought of before. A completely original idea has to come from a spark of inspiration. Our inspiration is Sonic. So it's natural that our finished products will look a bit like the characters we idolize. My characters resemble a lot of Sonic canons, in personality and in looks. 

And then there are those people who blindly follow other's opinions. It doesn't matter what side they're on, it's all the same. Blind slander of the other side without evidence to confirm it. Even if there is evidence present, one or both are usually unwilling to take it into account. You see so many rants with posts and pictures to back up their statements, but the overall tone undermines that. And on top of that, the comments in rebuttal of these rants are so obviously misguided you wonder if the person is even capable of having their own thoughts. It's one thing to agree with someone, it's something else entirely to ignore the other side of the argument completely. 

When did we get so mean spirited? Where along the lines did we become so passionately emotional about all of this that we're blinded by our feelings? When did we stop listening? You can say to just ignore it, but ignorance doesn't solve problems, it creates them. If we can't willingly understand what we're against, we can't really say we're against it. We're just following those who are. And it doesn't help that the things we go off of are angry, childish rants. It doesn't matter what sort of evidence you have to back up your statement if you're bias gets in the way of it. Opinions are fine, but they need to be checked at the door, especially if we coat them with malice.

We need to start watching what you say. The things we post to this site shouldn't ignite civil wars. We don't need to tear ourselves apart. The ignorance needs to end. Listen to one another and to yourselves people! I thought I could ignore shit like this, but I can't. So I won't. I'll be watching.
